D.A.R.E. Officer Al Torres

Hey steppers, a good time was had by all at Officer Al Torres' retirement celbration at the Elk's Lodge on Saturday night. Over 300 attendees, alot of friends we haven't seen in a while and a whole bunch of NEW Steppers.  We'd like to thank Al and his wife Sylvia for inviting us to provide the entertainment. Mike met Pete Molero (Sylvia's father). It was great to watch him as he provided some of the entertainment that night. As we finished up the night, he grabbed the microphone and rapped his own version of "Rapper's Delight". Mr. Molero and Mike had a few talks during the evening and it turns out he is a fellow sax player. At the age of 87, he's still got the voice and all the moves, can't wait to hear him blow a little sax sometime. Thanks Al and the Santa Maria Elk's Lodge for another successful gig for Steppin' Out. On a side note, Joe (bass player) searched for his first place ribbon to wear that night. He won it for writing an essay for the D.A.R.E. program back in the 6th grade. Unfortunately, it wasn't found in time for the event.
Hey, we'll see you all out at Shaws Steak House in Santa Maria this Saturday from 9-1 as Steppin' Out makes yet another debut.

  1. It doesn't surprise me at all that Steppin Out always shows their personal touch at all of their performances whether it's a birthday, retirement or just a party, they have so much personality. I enjoy the fact that it's not just listening to a band on stage, it's far more than that. For those who have yet to experience Steppin Out's individual touch, you are definitely in for a surprise. Keep up the good work Bro & the rest of Steppin Out. I enjoy your flava!
