What a great summer!

Hello Steppers! Steppin' Out has made some big strides over the summer. Being voted by you "the fans" as #1 The Best of The Best in the Santa Maria Sun Poll for 2010. Our City of Santa Maria Summer Concert at The Centennial Rotary Park was a big success. Hundreds of Steppers and New Fans came out to enjoy a music filled 'Fun in the Sun" afternoon. Steppin' Out makes The Santa Maria Times thanks to Jeanne Sparks, freelance photographer.
Now we're into September and their "Ain't no stoppin us now". Another great show on 9/11 at The Santa Maria Inn. September 12th had us Groovin' in Guadalupe for the City's Inaugaural "Salad Bowl Festival" A big thank you to Phil Klein (freelance photographer) for getting us a front page picture in the Santa Maria Times. A private party (50th bday) this weekend. And a new venue, El Toro Bronco in Lompoc on the 25th, followed by the last concert of the summer at R&Ds in Marsha's Backyard the very next day.
Look out Steppers...October looking real good too! keep checking OUR Calendar. hope to see you real soon.

We would like to thank all of you for attending our shows AND voting 'US' the Best Band in 2010 in The Santa Maria Sun.
It is an honor and a priveledge to be acknowledged. We had to say a 'farewell' to James Conver (drummer & founding member) but not with heavy hearts. Pastor Conver has followed his heart and his "calling" and we are happy for him and wish him all the best. Stepping in for James is a young man with some very talented beats, Abraham Robles (also drummer for the up and coming band La Faz) is our newest member and is definitely making a positive impact on our playing style.
Our "Summer Concert" show was a huge success. Thank you to the hundreds that were in attendance. Our next show will be in Marsha's Backyard at Ralph & Duanes in the Village of Arroyo Grande this Sunday Aug. 22.
REMEMBER to get your reservations now for New Years Eve at The Radisson. With 4 different packages to choose from, call the Radisson today and pick the one that's just right for you and your party and STEP into the New Year with Steppin' Out.

Steppin' into Summer with Steppin' Out

Hey Steppers, it's been a while. ..sorry. We've been pretty busy out there learning new music and gigging. We just finished an R&D's summer concert gig yesterday and it was a blast. Mike made it despite having surgery last Monday, James made his return to R&D's after a bit of time off. Lisa was an absolute singing machine just a few weeks after injury her back. But you know what, the music, the camaraderie, and you fans keep us plugging along and improving with every gig to be the best we can be. August will be an exciting month for us, and it seems as though July is going to fill up more than expected. Keep updated with our Calendar of Events, tell you friends and we'll see you out there on the party scene.

On Sunday from 2-6 we will be performing in Marsha's Backyard at Ralph & Duanes in the Village of Arroyo Grande. It's also Memorial Day Weekend AND The Arroyo Grande Strawberry Festival. Good times.
June 5, from 10-12 am, we are being presented by "Your Ol Skool radio station Mega 97.1" for a little 'end of the parade' street music/dance party. Thanks to August Ruiz (radio manager) for hooking us up.
June 12, is another dance party night for our monthly appearance at The Santa Maria Inn in The Tap Room.
June 18, is our 2nd performance of the year at The Santa Maria Elk's Lodge. It's a friday night "cook-your-own" for members and their guests.  It's the biggest dance floor in Santa Maria. A great venue.

D.A.R.E. Officer Al Torres

Hey steppers, a good time was had by all at Officer Al Torres' retirement celbration at the Elk's Lodge on Saturday night. Over 300 attendees, alot of friends we haven't seen in a while and a whole bunch of NEW Steppers.  We'd like to thank Al and his wife Sylvia for inviting us to provide the entertainment. Mike met Pete Molero (Sylvia's father). It was great to watch him as he provided some of the entertainment that night. As we finished up the night, he grabbed the microphone and rapped his own version of "Rapper's Delight". Mr. Molero and Mike had a few talks during the evening and it turns out he is a fellow sax player. At the age of 87, he's still got the voice and all the moves, can't wait to hear him blow a little sax sometime. Thanks Al and the Santa Maria Elk's Lodge for another successful gig for Steppin' Out. On a side note, Joe (bass player) searched for his first place ribbon to wear that night. He won it for writing an essay for the D.A.R.E. program back in the 6th grade. Unfortunately, it wasn't found in time for the event.
Hey, we'll see you all out at Shaws Steak House in Santa Maria this Saturday from 9-1 as Steppin' Out makes yet another debut.

merry christmas Steppers

A big thank you to all who came out to the Elks Lodge for our 'Debut' night for Cook-your-own. it was a great turn out, and we got the call Monday morning for more 'CYO's and possibly more. so far March 19 we'll return to the Elk's. Watch out Steppers, we'll have Lisa with us next time. It's sure to be one heck of a show.
Thanks to Will Smith and the "Pro Con Industries" for inviting us to play for their Xmas Party at Pepper Garcia's. Unfortunately, we had to cancel the Guadalupe Xmas Parade earlier that day because of rain, but we had a fun time playing for Will Smith and his crew.
To Richard and Penny Segovia and all their guests who came out to The Far Western Tavern to celebrate Richard's B-day. That gig felt so good for me to be in my hometown to play good music, for good people. Thanks so much Penny.
"Steppin Out" will be back out there in January and ready to 'groove' the Central Coast. Get Ready...Here We Come.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to All.
